The secret to greatness is that greatness awaits for you.
What if I told you that your dreams would come true if you took one step? What if I told you that your dreams would come true if you took one million steps? What if I told you that in those steps there will be obstacles along the way? Would you keep going?
How you answer those questions is what separates the good from the great.
Greatness is not achieved in the ease of accomplishment. Greatness is achieved through execution in spite of experiencing obstacles. How you deal with your challenges is what matters most life.
What’s interesting is that most people assume that great men and
women have it all. They don’t see the issues that they’ve been through. When people see me stand in front of crowds they think everything is together, that I don’t experience struggle. But nobody wants to hear:
When I was in high school, I had holes in my shoes
When I was 5 years old, my brother went to prison and hasn’t seen the light of day since
When I was 14 my daddy left me and didn’t even know I walked across the stage as the number one student in my graduating class
When I saw the movie Fences featuring Denzel Washington, my wife had to hold me because I cried after being reminded of the pain my father put me through
I share this with you to let you know that you’re not alone. You’re not the only one experiencing the up and down experience we know as life. I also want to let you know that greatness doesn’t have anything to do with someone telling you to go get greatness; you were already born with it.
It’s time to live a life of why nots instead of what ifs.
